La música pop (del inglés pop music, contracción de popular music) es un género de música popular que tuvo su origen a finales de los años 1950 como una derivación del tradicional pop, en combinación con otros géneros musicales que estaban de moda en aquel momento. Los términos música pop y música popular se usan a menudo de manera indistinta, aunque el segundo tiene un sentido más amplio al dar cabida a otros géneros distintos del pop que se consideren populares.
Mýa Marie Harrison, cantante de R&B nacida en Washington que comenzó su carrera musical a finales de los '90, destacándose también sus dotes como actriz y bailarina. Su mayor éxito fue en 2000 con el tema "Case Of The Ex".
COMIENZOS: Nació y creció en Washington, hija de Theresa Harrison de origen italo-americano, y de Sherman Harrison, afroamericano. Es la mayor de tres hermanos, seguida de Chaz y Nigel. Desde su infancia compaginó los estudios con el canto y la danza. Tomó lecciones de tap dance con Savion Glover en Nueva York. En su juventud apareció como azafata en el programa de la BET "Teen Summit". Con dieciséis años acabó sus estudios en Maryland.
