El Reggaetón es uno de los géneros musicales que más ha crecido en los últimos años, alcanzando su difusión niveles de aceptación fantásticos en todo el planeta. Se trata de una combinación entre el reggae jamaiquino, el rap y el hip hop. Sin dudas, el reggae, ha sido uno de los géneros musicales que más se ha combinado con otros géneros a lo largo de su historia y esto ocurrió oportunamente con el hip hop y el rap, dando paso al reggaetón.
Francisco Javier Bautista Frankie J.- nace en Tijuana, México, pero pasa su infancia en San Diego, Estados Unidos. A los 15 años, Frankie comienza a componer sus primeras canciones y al terminar la secundaria se une al grupo Kumbia Kings liderado por A.B. Quintanilla, hermano de la famosa cantante Selena. Durante cuatro años obtiene con ellos experiencia en los escenarios y en el mercado de la música. Al abandonar la banda, Frankie se sumerge de lleno en su carrera solista y deja atrás la cumbia para cantar sus propias canciones que responden al Rhtyhm & Blues.
Su álbum debut como solista What's A Man To Do? sale en 2003, y de este trabajo se desprende el single "Don't Wanna Try". Las buenas críticas y acogimiento por parte del público acrecentaron la espera de una segunda placa que afirme a Frankie J. en un destacado lugar de la música latina.
