El rhythm and blues (abreviado por sus siglas R&B) o jumping music es un género musical derivado en su origen del jazz, el gospel y el blues. El término musical fue introducido en Estados Unidos en 1949 por Jerry Wexler de la revista Billboard. Sustituyó al término conocido como "race records" (grabaciones de raza), considerado ofensivo para la posguerra mundial así como para la categoría de Billboard "Harlem Hit Parade" en junio de 1949, y principalmente era usado para identificar el género musical que más tarde se desarrollaría en forma de rock and roll.
Jamie Woon (nació el 29 de marzo 1983) es un cantante británico, compositor y productor que firmó con Polydor, ganó una gran aclamación en 2010 por su single Night Air. Fue educado en el Sacred Heart RC Primary School (New Malden), ST Catherines RC Middle School (Raynes Park) y Wimbledon College (Wimbledon). Más tarde asistió a la escuela del BRIT, donde se graduó el año anterior a Amy Winehouse, quien más tarde apoyó en vivo. Su sonido y el estilo en la actualidad se describe como Soul, su voz respaldada por samplers y programación, o una pista de solo guitarra. Él describe su música como "... R & B,". El 4 de enero de 2011, la BBC anunció que Woon había sido el cuarto lugar en el sonido de la BBC de 2011 la encuesta.
