Rock en español es la música rock compuesta e interpretada en castellano. A diferencia del rock en inglés, el rock en español ha logrado tener éxito mundial en pocas ocasiones, y muchas veces ni siquiera entre países de habla hispana. Por eso el rock en castellano se ha desarrollado de manera heterogénea en las distintas naciones hispanohablantes; quedando así la música de muchas bandas para uso casi exclusivamente nacional hasta la llegada de la globalización de contenidos multimedia acentuada por la generalización de internet y desarrollada especialmente en el siglo XXI.
The Moody Blues se formaron en 1964. Sus primeros éxitos llegaron cuando estaban patrocinados por la cervecería de Birmingham M&B y, consecuentemente, tomaron durante un tiempo el nombre de MB5, cambiándolo poco después a The Moody Blues.
Su formación original la componían Ray Thomas (Voz, flauta, percusión y armónica), Mike Pinder (Teclados y voz), Denny Laine (Voz y guitarra), Clint Warwick (Bajo y voz) y Graeme Edge (Batería) y su versión de "Go Now" alcanzó el número uno en enero de 1965. Sin embargo, sus siguientes lanzamientos no consiguieron tanto éxito y Laine y Warwick dejaron la banda.
