Rock en español es la música rock compuesta e interpretada en castellano. A diferencia del rock en inglés, el rock en español ha logrado tener éxito mundial en pocas ocasiones, y muchas veces ni siquiera entre países de habla hispana. Por eso el rock en castellano se ha desarrollado de manera heterogénea en las distintas naciones hispanohablantes; quedando así la música de muchas bandas para uso casi exclusivamente nacional hasta la llegada de la globalización de contenidos multimedia acentuada por la generalización de internet y desarrollada especialmente en el siglo XXI.
Eric Patrick Clapton Shaw (Ripley, Reino Unido, 30 de marzo de 1945). Guitarrista británico de blues. Apodado "slowhand" (mano lenta), Clapton ha sido uno de los artistas más respetados e influyentes en la era del rock. Su estilo musical sufrió múltiples cambios a lo largo de su carrera, pero sus raíces siempre han estado en el blues. Este músico es reconocido como un inovador en varias etapas de su carrera, como son el blues-rock (con John Mayall's Bluesbreakers y The Yardbirds), rock-blues-jazz fusion (con Cream), y también como solista. También ha tocado con "Derek and the Dominos" y "Blind Faith" y colaboró con The Beatles en el la grabación del albúm The Beatles como solista en la canción "While my Guitar Gently Weeps". Su guitarra eléctrica favorita y más utilizada es la Fender Stratocaster, también tiene preferencia por Fender en otros tipos de guitarras.
En sus últimos trabajos rinde tributo a Robert Johnson, bluesman al que siempre ha considerado como la mayor influencia musical en su carrera.
