Pop rock es un genero musical que combina melodías y letras típicas de la música pop con elementos propios del rock como son una mayor presencia de guitarras eléctricas o un ritmo más fuerte. Existen diversas definiciones para el término que van desde una forma más lenta y suave de rock hasta un subgénero dentro del pop.
Westlife es un grupo de pop irlandés. Su música está compuesta mayoritariamente de baladas y algunas canciones de pop sueco. Pero también han hecho mediotiempos y canciones bailables, y baladas de corte adulto, de sabor más R&B y covers de clásicos como Abba, Phil Collins, Barry Manilow, Billy Joel, etc.
El grupo ha obtenido un enorme éxito en el Reino Unido , Asia , Sudamérica , e Irlanda, donde los números uno conseguidos en la lista de singles superan ya la decena; en el resto del mundo, excepto en Estados Unidos, han logrado también una gran popularidad.
