Pop rock es un genero musical que combina melodías y letras típicas de la música pop con elementos propios del rock como son una mayor presencia de guitarras eléctricas o un ritmo más fuerte. Existen diversas definiciones para el término que van desde una forma más lenta y suave de rock hasta un subgénero dentro del pop.
5 Seconds of Summer (también conocidos como 5SOS por sus siglas) es una banda originaria de Sídney, Australia, de géneros pop y rock. Está integrada por Luke Hemmings (voz y guitarra), Calum Hood (voz y bajo), Ashton Irwin (batería y voz) y Michael Clifford (guitarra y voz). Comenzaron a tener atención en 2012 después de publicar una serie de covers de canciones populares en YouTube, luego alcanzaron cierta popularidad cuando One Direction los invitó a su gira Take Me Home Tour.
5 Seconds of Summer lanzó su primer sencillo Out of My Limit, exclusivamente en Australia y Nueva Zelanda en noviembre de 2012. En febrero de 2014, lanzaron She Looks So Perfect como su primer lanzamiento mundial. Llegó a listas en Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Irlanda y Reino Unido. Su primer álbum, 5 Seconds of Summer fue lanzado a finales de junio del 2014.
