Se llama música cristiana a la música creada y ejecutada como expresión del cristianismo. El término engloba una gran diversidad de estilos musicales que contienen mensajes bíblicos o letras de adoración y cuya motivación principal es la fe cristiana. Se ha compuesto durante los últimos 2mil años aproximadamente para manifestar tanto de manera personal como comunitaria las creencias religiosas y la fe en Dios. La definición de música cristiana, así como su papel fundamental su composición y su importancia llegan a tener diversas perspectivas q a veces varían según la denominación en cuestión.
Mercy Me es un grupo de Pop/Contemporáneo formado hace 8 años en Estados Unidos. Los miembros son Bart Millard como vocalista líder, Nathan Cochran en el bajo, Mike Scheuchzer y Barry Graul en las guitarras, Robby Shaffer en la percussion, y Jim Bryson en los teclados. Mercy Me comenzó hace ocho años como un puñado de jóvenes que amaban la música, amaban al Señor, y querían mantener a sus familias tocando música por y para Jesús. Algunos premios Dove, algunos albumes y más de un millón de copias vendidas después, mucho ha cambiado. Pero siguen siendo la misma gente, tipos que aman lo que hacen y para Quien lo hacen.
