Se llama música cristiana a la música creada y ejecutada como expresión del cristianismo. El término engloba una gran diversidad de estilos musicales que contienen mensajes bíblicos o letras de adoración y cuya motivación principal es la fe cristiana. Se ha compuesto durante los últimos 2mil años aproximadamente para manifestar tanto de manera personal como comunitaria las creencias religiosas y la fe en Dios. La definición de música cristiana, así como su papel fundamental su composición y su importancia llegan a tener diversas perspectivas q a veces varían según la denominación en cuestión.
Originarios de Malibu, California; Bajo el nombre de "Blyss", la primera formación de este grupo lanza en 1999 el album " Diff's Lucky Day" que incluye entre otros los temas "Fool", "What's Wrong With That" y "Breathing". Este útlimo tema será luego incluído en el primer album editado en el año 2000, ya bajo el nombre de Lifehouse: "No Name Face", del cual se extrae el single "Hanging by a Moment". El single ganó ese mismo año el premio Billboard Music Award como el éxito más sonado del año, batiendo los números 1 de Janet Jackson y Alicia Keys. El segundo single del álbum fue "Sick Cycle Carousel". En el año 2002, Lifehouse lanzó su segundo completo, el álbum titulado "Stanley Climbfall", cuyos temas "Spin" y "Take Me Away" lograron un inesperado éxito y aceptación; no alcanzando, de cualquier modo, el logrado por "Hanging by a Moment". En el año 2005 la banda sacó a la venta su tercer disco, titulado "Lifehouse". Este álbum hizo su presentación en la aparición del grupo en el capítulo "Spirit", de la cuarta temporada de la serie Smallville. En este capítulo la banda norteamericana tocó cuatro canciones del nuevo disco, lo que le sirvió como plataforma de lanzamiento. El single "You and Me", primero del tercer disco, rompió todos los records de ventas de la propia banda y ha sido declarado por variedad de expertos, como la mejor canción del año 2005. El segundo single del álbum es "Blind".
