El metal es un estilo de música basado en sonidos fuertes y poderosos que inspiran al que los oye, generalmente un sentimiento de enojo, ira, odio que usualmente son dirigidos hacia la sociedad donde vivimos, la vida diaria, el sistema político en algunos casos, en otros podemos encontrar temáticas que van desde religión, satanismo, muerte, sexo, violencia, soledad, melancolía. El metal tiene diversas formas y estilos, que van desde rápido pero no tan gutural, hasta el punto muy rápido y muy gutural. Los estilos son muy variados, y cada cual tiene sus ritmos, sonidos y temáticas respectivas.
Phoenix Rising se forma a finales de 2006 en Alcorcón (Madrid) bajo el nombre de Quinta Enmienda, en aquellos tiempos sólo se trataba de un grupo de amigos que tocaban versiones de sus bandas favoritas, pero aquella formación inicial pronto sufriría cambios. En 2007, la banda comienza a escribir sus primeras canciones y el sonido de Quinta Enmienda cambia de dirección hacia unos derroteros más propios del metal épico y melódico.
Al año siguiente, Quinta Enmienda graba su primera demo, como resultado de su segundo puesto en el concurso “¿Y tú que tocas?”. La demo tan sólo contiene 2 canciones, pero gracias a ella la banda comienza a ofrecer sus primeros conciertos ganando buena reputación en la escena underground de la zona.
