El metal es un estilo de música basado en sonidos fuertes y poderosos que inspiran al que los oye, generalmente un sentimiento de enojo, ira, odio que usualmente son dirigidos hacia la sociedad donde vivimos, la vida diaria, el sistema político en algunos casos, en otros podemos encontrar temáticas que van desde religión, satanismo, muerte, sexo, violencia, soledad, melancolía. El metal tiene diversas formas y estilos, que van desde rápido pero no tan gutural, hasta el punto muy rápido y muy gutural. Los estilos son muy variados, y cada cual tiene sus ritmos, sonidos y temáticas respectivas.
Ill Niño es un grupo de Nu Metal de raíces latinoamericanas, los integrantes son de países como Peru, Venezuela, Brasil, República Dominicana. Actualmente viven en Nueva Jersey (Estados Unidos).
"La idea de tocar está en ser tan bestial como sea posible pero también en ser lo más melódico posible con un giro latino y con algunos acordes flamencos", dice el baterísta de origen peruano Dave Chavarri, que además es líder, fundador y productor.
