El metal es un estilo de música basado en sonidos fuertes y poderosos que inspiran al que los oye, generalmente un sentimiento de enojo, ira, odio que usualmente son dirigidos hacia la sociedad donde vivimos, la vida diaria, el sistema político en algunos casos, en otros podemos encontrar temáticas que van desde religión, satanismo, muerte, sexo, violencia, soledad, melancolía. El metal tiene diversas formas y estilos, que van desde rápido pero no tan gutural, hasta el punto muy rápido y muy gutural. Los estilos son muy variados, y cada cual tiene sus ritmos, sonidos y temáticas respectivas.
Asking Alexandria es una banda británica de Metalcore formada por el guitarrista Ben Bruce, Cameron Liddell, Sam Bettley y James Cassells. Su origen se encuentra en Dubái, Emiratos Árabes Unidos , cuando en 2003, Ben Bruce formó una banda llamada Amongst Us, luego rebautizada como End of Reason y finalmente, en 2006, como Asking Alexandria. Cuando Bruce regresó a Nottingham, Inglaterra, la banda se disolvió, y en 2008 formó una nueva agrupación con el mismo nombre.
El 15 de septiembre de 2009 fue publicado Stand Up And Scream por Sumerian, el único sencillo fue " Final Episode (Let's Change the Channel) ". El álbum ha alcanzado el lugar número 170 en Billboard 200, número 29 en Top de álbumes Independientes, y el número 5 en Top Heatseekers. El 15 de diciembre del 2009 fue publicado en Youtube el primer vídeo de la banda llamado "The Final Episode" dirigido por Robby Starbuck quien también al año siguiente dirigió el segundo vídeo de la banda llamado "A Prophecy". En el año 2011 la banda grabó y publicó el 5 de abril Reckless and Relentless vendiendo 31 000 copias en la primera semana debutando en el puesto número 9 en Billboard 200. El primer sencillo del álbum fue Morte et Dabo que fue lanzado el 15 de febrero y el segundo sencillo fue Breathless que también fue publicado en febrero del mismo año.
