El termino K-pop surge por el movimiento de la cultura joven y (K) de Korean (Coreano en ingles); en resumen es la abreviatura de Korean Pop o Pop Coreano. Es un género de música que tuvo sus orígenes especialmente en Corea del Sur ya que prácticamente no hay una industria de música popular en Corea del Norte. Ya que Corea del Norte tiene un estricto régimen de gobierno comunista, por lo que las relaciones con Corea del Sur son muy pocas, así que cuando se habla de cantantes coreanos se da como sobrentendido que se habla de Corea del Sur.
Charles Otto Puth Jr. (Rumson, Nueva Jersey, 2 de diciembre de 1991) es un cantante, compositor y productor musical estadounidense. Su exposición inicial se produjo a través del éxito viral de los videos de sus canciones subidos a YouTube.
Después de firmar inicialmente con eleveneleven después de presentarse en The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Puth comenzó a contribuir en canciones y álbumes de otros artistas como Cody Simpson, Livingston Taylor y Skizzy Mars; además de crear material en solitario y covers de canciones populares. Con la intención principal de una carrera profesional, Atlantic Records buscó al artista y lanzó su sencillo debut, "Marvin Gaye" con Meghan Trainor en 2015. Coincidiendo con el sencillo llegó su primera aparición especial en una canción, en el tema "See You Again", que coescribió, coprodujo e interpretó con Wiz Khalifa para la banda sonora de Furious 7 como tributo al fallecido actor Paul Walker. Alcanzó el número 1 en el Billboard Hot 100 de EE. UU durante 12 semanas no consecutivas. Después del éxito de "See You Again", ganó reconocimiento mundial por múltiples lanzamientos posteriores, incluido su siguiente sencillo "One Call Away", que alcanzó el número 12 en el Billboard Hot 100.
