El hip hop es un género musical que incluye golpes rítmicos que acompañan a una voz principal que rapea. Este es un género musical muy popular y uno de los principales componentes de lo que es considerado como la cultura hip hop. Muchos espectáculos instrumentales en los que se presentan DJs sin apoyo vocal, también son abarcados bajo el género de la música hip hop. Esto se ha vuelto más popular dado que las técnicas de mezclado y sampleo (o muestreo) han madurado en los últimos años.
Compuesto por Slug a.k.a. Sean Daley en la voz y Ant a.k.a. Anthony Davis en la produccion musical, es uno de los grupos mas emergentes del midwest rap de USA, que se dio a conocer lentamente en el ambiente, pero que hoy ha tenido un vertiginoso avance siendo uno de los integrantes mas reconocidos de Rhymesayers Label. Corrian los años 96' y 97' donde el movimiento hip hop retoma fuerza en USA de la mano de Company Flow, 2Pac, Mos Def entre otros Mc's, y la escena hip hop en Minneapolis (Minnesota, USA) era reducida, con rasgos familares, donde pocos grupos resaltaban, entre ellos Atmosphere.
Slug nacio el año 1972 y su apodo proviene de su alias de infancia, "Little Sluggo" el cual era derivado de su padre a quien le llamaban "Sluggo", sus origenes raciales son una mescla entre negro, blanco y etnias nativas americanas, pero desde sus incios se sintio mas ligado a sus raices negras por su vinculo con su abuelo paterno y sus juntas de pubertad que mas tarde, en su adolescencia, caerian en el abismo del Hip-Hop.
