El eurodance es un subestilo de la música dance, típico de los 90 (1992-1996) en Europa, Oceanía y Sudamérica. Sus orígenes están en el dance y el pop. Es un estilo que aunque es dance, es muy comercial (el dance normal no lo es), sus canciones suelen ser bastante radiadas y populares. Estas canciones, se suelen incluir, además de recopilatorios dance, en recopilatorios de pop. Suele tener voces femeninas, trozos masculinos rapeados, o voces masculinas (menos común).
Modern Talking fue un dúo alemán formado por el cantante Thomas Anders y el arreglista, compositor y productor Dieter Bohlen, con la participación de Luis Rodríguez en la producción. Se les ha referenciado como el dúo pop más exitoso de Alemania, teniendo varios sencillos exitosos y alcanzando los cinco primeros lugares de éxitos en muchos países. Dieter Bohlen y Thomas Anders trabajaron juntos entre 1984 hasta 1987, año en el cual la banda se separó. En 1998 se reunieron e hicieron un regreso exitoso, grabando y lanzando música entre 1998 y 2003. El dúo lanzó sencillos que nuevamente ingresaron al top ten en Alemania y en el extranjero. Después de la segunda y última ruptura del dúo en 2003, sus ventas globales alcanzaron los 120 millones de unidades vendidas entre sencillos y álbumes.
Particularmente notable es que Modern Talking fue la primera banda del bloque occidental en la Guerra Fría a la que se le permitió vender oficialmente sus discos en la Unión Soviética, como parte de las reformas Glasnost de Mikhail Gorbachev en 1986. Modern Talking fue la primera banda occidental en ser autorizada porque no proceden directamente de Estados Unidos y Reino Unido y también por la naturaleza apolítica de sus letras, como resultado, todavía mantienen una gran base de fans en Europa del Este.
