La música criolla del Perú es consecuencia de un proceso de influencias sociales, políticas, económicas y geográficas sobre los habitantes de sus tres zonas naturales clásicas: Costa, Sierra y Selva. De entre ellas, Costa y Sierra recibieron los aportes más significativos de la música y bailes de España a través de los soldados de la Conquista y de élites dominantes durante la Colonia. En la Costa, es la zona donde la riqueza de la música española acentuó su presencia durante los tiempos de la Colonia.

Norma Cecilia Bracamonte Chocano (Lima, 22 de noviembre de 1949) es una cantante peruana. Incursionada en la carrera en el mundo de la música peruana desde los 15 años, es considerada una "leyenda viva", un baluarte y la más grande exponente de la música criolla de su generación.
