Beck Hansen (nacido el 8 de julio de 1970 en Los Ángeles, California, Estados Unidos) es cantante y compositor. Desde pequeño, Beck fue influenciado por su padre, un músico de bluegrass callejero. Viviendo con su madre, una empleada administrativa, y su hermano, se crió en los suburbios de Los Angeles, donde absorbió el hip-hop cada vez más creciente como breakdancer. Beck también vivió en Kansas con sus abuelos (su abuelo paterno era un pastor presbiteriano) y con su abuelo materno, el artista Al Hansen, en Inglaterra.
Después de dejar la escuela a los 16 años se mudó a Nueva York en 1986, aunque no le resultó posible unirse a la escena punk de esa ciudad. Por este motivo, Beck volvió a Los Angeles y realizó sus primeras presentaciones en clubes como Raji’s y Jabberjaw.
