and why we're bickering (what's the reasoning?)
we're different but the same you call it a competition
I call it a blame game (but we're both to blame)

no matter what the problem is we just don't feel the same
we cannot even agree to disagree on anything

you wish that I would just learn to shut my mouth
(you never learn to shut your mouth)
we've got to figure this out we've got to find a way
to find a common ground (before we run aground)

and I wonder how much farther we can go
1,000 miles away but pull over the van
why do we fight for what we just don't understand?
can we be friends again?
