was really no one's dear affection
lying there on the ground his body
glows in all 4 directions
all his life before our eyes
we never gave him much attention
colors yet unnamed compose
a painting of such live complexion

we'd see him around

old dogs kept him company
and the rain always kept him clean
feet that never touched the ground
words that always sounded mean
hands too small to do you harm
eyes that searched for the obcene
