I know exactly how that moment made me feel
An early morning December the third
Until this day it’s the worst thing I’ve heard

Mom got up early to cook
When the breakfast was ready I saw dad and I shook
On his way out with the list of things to buy
I got suspicious, said, can I go with?

Dad acted weird, looked over at mom

Hockey sticks and all the things I wish

Dad must be santa, I see it all now
Why else by the paper at such a weird time
I feel kinda stupid but still, I’m relieved
Could’ve been worse, still got my Easter beliefs
